Pequannock rebounds with Victory over Morris Hills
By Coach Carchietta for MorrisCountyVaristy.net
Rockaway, NJ - Pequannock came to Rockaway ready to play. Just 17 hours after a heart-breaking, 7-6 loss to MCHSS.net’s #1 Delbarton, Pequannock had to strap on the cleats and go up against the Daily Record’s #1 team … and the Panthers were up for the challenge.
Martin Kelly held the Knights scoreless for the first 5 innings. The sophomore was reached for two runs in the 6th, but ended the rally with a strikeout. Pequannock rapped out 6 runs in the 7th. Kelly helped his own cause at the plate, going 3-for-5 and scoring a run in the 7th after his second double of the day. Ten Pequannock’s batters had at least one hit as the Panthers handed Morris Hills their first loss of the season.
